We insulate and air seal attics, walls and crawl spaces for homeowners, landlords and property managers in Sparks who want the job done once and done well.

Sparks sits right beside Reno, and the weather here pushes a house hard in both directions. July highs average about 92°F and December lows about 25°F, with only around 8 inches of precipitation a year, so most of the calls we get are about hot bedrooms upstairs in summer and cold floors and drafty rooms in winter. A well-sealed, evenly insulated attic helps at both ends of the year, because it slows the heat coming through the roof in July and keeps the furnace's heat inside in December.

Most people here know the city from a walk around the loop trail at Sparks Marina Park, pickleball or a ballgame at Burgess Park, or a visit to the Sparks Heritage Museum downtown, which is closed for now while it gets a new roof. We're based in this same city, and the houses around those places are the ones we crawl through every week, trying to make them comfortable without anyone paying for insulation they didn't need.

Insulation contractor services in Sparks, NV

Complete Sparks Insulation Services is an insulation contractor in Sparks, NV, for houses where the upstairs bakes, the floors stay cold or the power bill keeps climbing. We offer 16 services, from topping up an attic to sealing a crawl space, and the goal each time is a house that holds its temperature. The price mostly turns on how much is already up there and what shape it's in, whether old material has to come out, how hard the space is to reach and which material fits. The schedule turns on any repair that has to come first and whether your job needs a permit. You'll get your own figure at the estimate, once I've seen the house.

  • Spray foam insulation

Spray foam insulates and seals air in a single layer, so it suits rim joists, the room over the garage and attics where the ductwork runs. We'll tell you plainly when it's worth the extra cost and when it isn't.

  • Attic insulation

Hot upstairs or a power bill that jumps every July? We measure how many inches are already in your attic, seal the gaps and bring the whole floor up to an even depth.

  • Blown-in insulation

Blown-in insulation is loose fill blown through a hose, and it's the usual way we top up an open attic floor. It settles into corners and around framing where batts leave gaps.

  • Home insulation

We look at the attic, walls, floors and crawl space together and start where the heat is actually getting out. It's for homeowners who know the house is drafty but not why.

  • Insulation removal

When old insulation is soaked, flattened or fouled by rodents, we bag it out and clean the attic. That leaves a clean space for new material instead of hiding the problem under it.

  • Crawl space insulation

Cold floors in winter usually start in the crawl space below. We insulate the floor above it or the crawl space walls, depending on how it's vented and what runs down there.

  • Wall insulation

Older houses often have little or nothing in the exterior walls. We blow insulation into the cavities through small holes and patch them, so the siding and drywall stay put.

  • Air sealing services

Air sealing is closing the gaps around pipes, wiring, can lights and the hatch before we insulate, so the insulation isn't fighting a draft. It's often the cheapest comfort you can buy.

  • Basement insulation

We insulate basement walls and rim joists so the space below feels less damp and the floor above stays warmer. It fits finished basements and ones you're about to finish.

  • Closed-cell foam insulation

Closed-cell foam is a dense foam that also blocks moisture, which makes it the pick for rim joists, crawl space walls and tight spots that need the most insulation per inch.

  • Open-cell foam insulation

Open-cell foam is the softer, lighter foam, and it fills odd-shaped rooflines and walls well while cutting noise between rooms. It's the less costly foam where moisture isn't a concern.

  • Commercial insulation

Landlords, property managers and small business owners call us for rentals, offices and shops. We plan the work around tenants and staff and clean up before we leave.

  • Crawl space vapor barrier

A crawl space vapor barrier is a heavy plastic sheet laid over the dirt so ground moisture stays out of your floor framing. We overlap and seal the seams and run it up the walls.

  • Vapor barrier installation

Where does moisture in a wall come from? Often from inside the house, and a vapor barrier on the right side of the wall keeps it out of the insulation.

  • Attic air sealing

Before any new insulation goes in, we seal the attic floor around the hatch, can lights, plumbing stacks and wiring. That's what stops warm air from leaking up and out all winter.

  • Retrofit insulation

Retrofit insulation is adding insulation to a house you already live in, without tearing out walls or ceilings. We pick the method that fits the house you have.

Why Sparks homeowners and landlords call us

  • You deal with the owner, start to finish

I do the estimate myself, look at your attic or crawl space in person, and I'm on the job with our small crew. You get your questions answered before you decide anything, and I'm happy to explain a step twice.

  • Repairs first, so the insulation pays off

If there's a roof leak, wet insulation or old wiring, I'll tell you to deal with that first. New insulation over a problem doesn't do its job, and I'd rather say so than sell it to you.

  • A tighter house that's still a safe one

Before we seal anything, we check how your furnace, water heater and other gas appliances get their air. Sealing a house cuts drafts, so we make sure those appliances still breathe properly afterward.

An insulation contractor based in Sparks since 2023

I started Complete Sparks Insulation Services in Sparks in 2023, after years of upkeep work for a property management company taught me that most cold rooms and high bills trace back to attics and crawl spaces nobody had checked in years. We're fully licensed and insured, we offer 16 insulation services across the Reno and Sparks area, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. Homeowners call us, and so do landlords and property managers who want the job done once. You can read more about how we got started.

Tell us about your attic, walls or crawl space

We get back to you within one business day, and then I set up a time to come out and look at the house myself. There's no obligation, so you can hear what I find and decide from there.

Foam or loose fill in your attic

Spray foam costs more but seals air while it insulates, so it mostly earns its price when your ductwork or furnace sits up in the attic. For most attics, sealing the gaps and then topping up the loose fill is the better use of your money, and I'll tell you which one your house calls for.

What happens after you call

  1. Call or send a message

Call (775) 447-1072 or use the form, and we get back to you within one business day to set up a visit.

  2. I look at the house

The estimate is free, done at your home and comes with no obligation. I check the attic, walls or crawl space and see what's already there.

  3. Plan and written estimate

I walk you through what I found and what should be fixed first, then put the plan and the price in writing so you can decide.

  4. Permit, prep and install

If you go ahead, we check what the city or county office for your address asks for and handle any permit. Then our crew preps and installs, with me there.

  5. Walk-through and care

We walk the finished job with you before we pack up, show you what changed and tell you what to keep an eye on afterward.

Insulation questions from Sparks homeowners

Do I need to remove old insulation before adding more?

Only if it's wet, matted or full of droppings, because new material on top keeps the problem in your attic. Dry, clean insulation can usually stay, and we top it up to an even depth, edges included, which saves you the cost of removal.

Do we have to leave the house while you insulate?

For blown-in loose fill in the attic, usually not, since the work happens up there and the crew comes and goes through the hatch. Spray foam is different. You, the kids and the pets stay out until the re-entry time, the point when the foam maker says it's safe to come back, and we'll tell you that time before the day.

Can new insulation cause moisture problems in my attic?

It can if the insulation buries the vents along the eaves, because the attic stops breathing and moisture can show up in the framing. We keep those vents open with baffles, short channels that hold the insulation back from the roof edge, and we won't insulate over an active roof leak.

Do you have to tear open walls to add insulation?

No, in most finished walls we blow insulation in through small holes and then plug and patch them. A touch of paint is usually all the patch needs afterward, and I'll show you where the holes will go before we start.

What if my attic hatch is in a closet or hard to reach?

That's common, and we work through the hatch you have. We cover the closet and the floor under it before anyone climbs up, and we seal and insulate the hatch itself, because it's one of the bigger air leaks in most attics.

How soon can you start insulating my house in Sparks?

Usually soon after the estimate, once any repair that has to come first is done and any permit is sorted out. The City of Sparks issues permits for work like furnaces, water heaters and roofing, and its list doesn't name insulation, so we ask the office for your address before we set a start date.

How do I take care of new attic insulation?

Mostly by leaving it alone. Keep boxes off it, step only on the framing if you go up, and call us if you see a water stain on the ceiling, because wet insulation stops working and usually points to a leak.

Does an insulation contractor need a Sparks business license as well as a state license?

Yes. Nevada law says a contractor has to be licensed before bidding or quoting a price, and the city says a state license alone doesn't make a contractor licensed in Sparks. A business that comes into the city to work also needs a City of Sparks business license and proof of workers' compensation coverage, so it's fair to ask any contractor you're considering about both.
